Yanni Hufnagel is 30 years old. He did his schooling in Scarsdale where he was cut from his varsity basketball team when he was in high school.
Yanni Hufnagel earned his graduation degree from Cornell University. He lives in Boston.
Presently he is working at Harvard as an assistant basketball coach. It was during his four seasons being there on the bench that Crimson achieved wild success. It was just last year that Harvard won Ivy League, for the first time. They also have a basketball phenomenon named Jeremy Lin. This is why Yanni Hufnagel is being termed as one of the hottest coaches that are present in the country today.
The reason behind this success of Yanni Hufnagel is believed to be his ability to recruit. Even his competitors recognize this unique trait in him.
Basically, Yanni Hufnagel was not good enough to be on the high school team at Scarsdale. But then he thought about giving a shot at becoming a coach. People recognized that he was far ahead of his age in analyzing basketball. Hence they all knew that he would either be doing that or become a coach.
Yanni Hufnagel was the basketball manager for one season during his first year at Cornell. His summer, as well as fall internships, were with the New Jersey Nets. He was even doing laundry pickup at this time. After his graduation, he met Jeff Capel who was the basketball Coach for Oklahoma. He required a graduate assistant. This is where Yanni Hufnagel fitted in.
He is known for being genuine as well as hardworking. No matter what his team needs, he is always around to provide that.
It was in 2009 that Jeff Capel recommended Yanni Hufnagel to Coach Tommy Amaker, who was the Harvard Head Coach at that time. He joined there as soon as he could.
